"A Hattiesburg resident achieved a new state fishing record when he caught a 200-plus pound tuna. Michael McElroy III, of Hattiesburg, caught a 236-pound, 9.6-ounce Yellowfin Tuna while using conventional tackle. The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources certified the record during their monthly meeting on Tuesday. The previous record was held by Robert Landingham when he caught a 205-pound, 12.8-ounce fish on June 9, 2001." - Renaldo Hopkins.
